The fruits of Bohemia 

It’s true, almost every possible scenario based on the great sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, has been exploited. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that I have decided to join in. One of the few indications Sir Author Conan Doyle provided us with that his sexual preference was conventional was in the case: The scandal in Bohemia. Sherlock undoubtedly met his match with Irene Adler or “The Woman” and for which, there was a mutual admiration. As this was Conan Doyle’s first short story, perhaps it was something he needed to clear up before speculations  began.


Nothing more was written about their relationship but we can always speculate. A progeny with their combined assets would indeed be formidable in many ways. However, if this progeny is unaware of his lineage, his unique ability and extraordinary insight would be portrayed as nothing more than a severe irritation to others. So, for too long Sheridan Banner has been burdened with an extraordinary gift but his time has finally arrived.
